“thighs from thunder” is a sculpture within the aesthetic play of fonts and material and the punny reforming of a phrase. The reference “thunder thighs” uses the rumble of thunder as a metaphor for the rumbling of a person's thighs when they walk. This is also known as "chub rub," both of which are considered undesirable in a fat-phobic culture.
The new phrase propels a system for creating meaning based on the mainstay of an error, or a proud proclamation that only gets heard in the form of material fingering.
The many elements or “thoughts” in the three words/sculptures in the window enjoy a surface existence and push forward a system that connects the various notions of the feminine within the materiality of the vulnerable; and within the flexibility of words used to weaken.
